I joined Writing.Com on October 1, 2005. My cousin Melissa introduced me to this site. I was reluctant at first to join, but I am glad that I did. This place fills a gap in my life that nothing else can. I was never a poet until I joined this website, now I have written a total of sixteen poems since joining. I found a side of me that I never knew existed, and I have Melissa and Writing.Com to thank!
I have only recently started posting on Writing.Com after having been a member for several months. I love how easy it is to post my writings. I love the comraderie of the members. I have interacted with several different people on here and they have been nothing but nice to me and helpful. In my search for a website on which to post my poems and blurbs, I have come across many where the other members were rude, discourteous and at times downright hostile towards me. Thank you for creating such a wonderful site. Keep up the good work. And to all the members out there that are helping out us Newbies~~~THANK YOU!!!!
A friend told me about Writing.Com about a year or more ago. I thought it was a "nice" idea, but already had an online blog on another site. I wrote poetry there but never got the kind of input I was seeking. THEN...I bit the bullet and joined Writing.Com. I don't enjoy change but this was painless! I have gotten great reviews on my work, read wonderful items of all sorts, but also made so many wonderful friends. I've been blown away by the generosity and helpfulness I found here when I was a "newbie". And you know what? There's no where else on the web I'd rather be! Thanks, Writing.Com!
Within the few weeks that I've been on Writing.Com, I have learned a lot from other writers. The comments are very helpful and I love the idea of being able to interact with other writers freely.
If Writing.Com were human, I'd give it a big hug and a kiss! I thought I wouldn't find the perfect site for my writing. This site made my creative juices flowing!
I can't believe how much this site has helped me. After discovering it on Google and joining up the same day, I was amazed at the enormous selection and variety of tools that can assist a new writer. Just being in the community was a great help for me, because I needed reviews to send with my book to publication. Since then, it's been difficult for me to get offline (my family constantly teases me!), and my port's grown to many items. What else can I say, except... THANK YOU, Writing.Com!!
This is heaven-sent to me. I've been serarching for ways to improve my writing skill, now I finally found it. In a few months' time, I am able to enhace my skill, make more stories, write about what I really think, without fear of not being noticed. I also gained some confidence because of this. Now, I think I can write the world.
As someone whose interest in writing has been recently rekindled after many years, I have found this site to be invaluable in every way imaginable as a writer. The reviewing process, and participation in it, are encouraged at every turn. I am learning, and having fun here every day. So come on in, and see for yourself. You won't regret it!
I have always wanted to write, but never felt able to. I suppose that I lacked the confidence to write and present my work to anyone. Since joing Writing.Com, I have gained a confidence in my ability that I had no idea existed. I now direct my friends and fanily to the site, so that they can see my work and that of others. Initially, I loved the anonymity of it, now I just love that there are other people who share my passion for words. Thank you so much!!
I want to say that joining Writing.Com has helped me to further myself to acheive my goal. My goal in life is to publish poetry to help other girls. Thanks.

How did I live without Writing.Com? I honestly do not know! I've only been a member for a few days, but I can't walk away from my computer! I'm constantly checking my Inbox to see if anyone has reviewed any of my work and sent me comments. I can't get anything done around my home because of my involvement with Writing.Com! I have received wonderful, helpful, and constructive criticism of my writing which, has spurred me on to actually take that step to submit my work to a magazine for publication. Everyone that I have had even the slightest bit of contact with has been so wonderful! Thank you Writing.Com and thank you to all of the authors who have helped me improve my work. I honestly don't know how I lived without all of you! Now I have a 'willing' audience to read my work. I don't have to bribe, cajole, or threaten! How nice is that?!
I have been on Writing.Com for about a month and I'm addicted. I have loved writing ever since I could and now I'm writing many stories. On Writing.Com I get helpful comments and feel even better about my writing. This is one of the greatest websites in the world!!!
I have been on Writing.Com for nearly nine months, and I think that in that time, I have learned so much more than I ever would have if I had not joined. When I first started writing, I began with a story called A Memory Too Many. I have been rewriting it, and when I put the two side by side, I can barely tell that they are the same story. I would like to thank each and every person on Writing.Com for helping me and encouraging me to stay here and write. Writing.Com is like a second home to me. I have more friends online than I do in real life. Thank you!!
I just got done posting a few writings today. I haven't found anything as much fun in my whole life than on this website. This gives me a chance to see what people think of my writings and my strong points and weak points in my stories. I am very happy that I have the chance to show everyone my stories.
A little over a year ago, I moved away from family and friends, to a new city and a new life. For the first time since I was five, I did not have the structure of schools and extracurricular activities. I was starting anew, a bit sad to leave all I did behind, but curious to see what the future would bring, hopeful that I would be strong enough to see my fate through. A little over a year ago, about a month after I moved, I tried looking for an on-line community that wrote interactive stories. I remembered surfing “bulletin boards” when I was a teenager – on the boards, members could play interactive games and write interactive stories. I was addicted to IM in college, but I wanted more interaction from others who liked to read and write. The very day I stumbled across Writing.Com, I became a member. I was excited about the site, and kicked myself for not searching for it years ago. I found campfires and interactives – just what I wanted – plus a host of other ways to interact with authors and get feedback on my writing. Within a few days, I signed up to be a premium member. Although I spent a lot of time learning the ropes of the site, I did not want to write a testimonial right away. What if something horrible happened – like I found out that the members were mainly snotty jerks, or that the StoryMaster and StoryMistress did not really care about the needs of the site? A year passed. One or two less-than-gracious members crossed my path, but most members seemed down-to-earth, funny, and very interested in cultivating their craft…whether that means writing a novel, winning the most scroll games, or scrutinizing the site to find good reads and ways to reward writers. The site encourages basic courtesy from all members and has a rating system. Members are very approachable and are willing to follow the rating guidelines. When I am not at work, I am often online, keeping busy by writing stories, adding to campfires, and judging site contests. My family renewed my subscription for my birthday, and I can finally say that the trial run is over: I am (officially!) glad to be a member of Writing.Com. Thanks SM and SMs for making such a well-organized, interesting, creative site. And thanks to all the members I have “met” for being invigorating, classy, fun people. I plan to be a part of Writing.Com for quite some time to come. If you like to read, write, and/or interact with a wide variety of people, I highly suggest you join this site!

Even as a brand new member to Writing.Com, I am already singing its praises. When I first found this site, it seemed to have everything I was looking for as an aspiring writer, but I was initially overwhelmed by the wealth of information and figured surely I would be lost and my work would go unnoticed with so many members. However, I am happy to say my experience has been just the opposite. I immediately received some helpful reviews that same day as well as offers of assistance in navigating the site. Even though I know I am only one of hundreds, it feels like all this special attention was directed my way. It's a very encouraging and supportive environment, and I'm already more motivated as a writer than I was just days ago before I joined. Thanks to everyone at Writing.Com!
This is the best site I have ever been a member of. I was a member at another writing site, who's name I will keep to myself, and it does not hold a candle to Writing.Com. The interaction within the community is fantastic. The people are encouraging and helpful, giving honest reviews. Two days after joining this site, I decided to never return to the other site. I however told the friends I made that I stumbled upon this site which they would appreciate, as Writing.Com offers to all those passionate about writing the ability to enhance their skills and/or help others grow, both rewarding features of Writing.Com. The members who have joined agree that this site is the BEST! The creators of Writing.Com are masters of their trade, effectively knowing how to bring talented writers together to share their creative minds and talents. Allowing all to share their skills and learn what they need to be good writers. Thanks for making Writing.Com a great place to hang out, learn, and be creative yourself. I look forward to many years with Writing.Com, as I am here to stay!
I've been a member of this site for about four months and love it! I have always thought of myself as a writer and not a reader but have discovered the joy in both now. The knowledge gained by interacting with other members is enormous. Thanks, Writing.Com!
This site is awesome! I've found a home with people in it who share my interest in writing. It's like a vacation that never ends. I love this place!
I joined Writing.Com a mere two weeks ago, and have reinvigorated my writing voice. I've been into creative writing since high school and through college, but my work have mostly been for academic purposes. In the last decade, writing took a bit of a back seat, and only resurfaced again several years ago when I briefly ran an online magazine (with a few other writers), and again about six months ago when I began my personal blog. I realized even more how writing is such a big part of me, and your site helped open the creative floodgates, so to speak. I will forever be thankful for this vehicle that not only allows me to express my thoughts, but also have talented other writers give me amazing pointers and feedback on how I can improve as a writer. Thank you kindly.
I hate this site. It holds me with a death-grip. I can't look away. I'm enticed by the excellent stories, fantastic critiques, and all-around good people. Please set me free. I have work to do. This site is going to get me fired. My wife will leave me. I'll go bankrupt. They'll turn off my electricty and I'll be forced to use public computers in public libraries. Somebody please help me. Excuse me, I have to go read some more postings. Bye.
I've only been a member of Writing.Com for a few days, but I am hooked. I have not been able to get off the site in days. Writing.Com is an excellent way for aspiring writers, even if writing is your hobby, to get it out and have other people read, comment, critique and even get noticed. People who don't join this fabulous website are fools for not doing so.
Since becoming a member of Writing.Com, I have had considerate and encouraging reviews of my work. I have not had to entertain rudeness, bizarre rantings, or inconsiderate remarks. I have been treated respectfully, given sound advice and challenged, never criticized for my content. I write because I must - I am addicted to creating with words. When I write it is from the heart. Many writers feel this way. As is true of most artists, whatever their medium, it leaves me vulnerable to put my heart out there on display. I am miserable if I'm not writing, I am miserable if no one is reading my writing, and I am miserable if no one has a kind comment about my writing. But, I am devastated when I feel that the work has not been appreciated for what it is... a piece of my heart. I need to be taught how better to write and I want to learn. I am able to learn when I know that my work has been 'carefully and gently' handled and read by someone who knows writing and genuinely cares. While I don't need to be paid ( though I would love to be rewarded monetarily for my efforts) what I do need is to be helped, encouraged and supported by my kind, not devoured. Unfortunately, not every place is like Writing.Com. Fortunately, I found Writing.Com and the people - the writers - the starving artists, who make it such an enjoyable and educational experience. To coin a phrase that fits this writer's paradise so well... Write On
After years of writing snippets and ideas of stories on looseleaf, and notebooks, I was one frustrated writer. I tried to get my friends interested in reading my little stories, but they just didn't "feel like it". Once I got a laptop to type instead of write, it was crowded with stories waiting to be read, and to be enjoyed. Except I didn't have any readers. Highly frustrated and discouraged, I turned to fanfic and other writing sites but... they just didn't offer me any creative freedom that I so desired! I turned to google for my last hope and I searched and searched for a writing community who would be willing to actually BE a community. I hit on Writing.Com, looked at the welcome page, registered with high hopes... and fell in love with Writing.Com. Writing.Com not only offered me a free account, a free email, and freedom to write and post whatever I wanted... it offered me exposure of my writings to other willing and eager readers, but it also offered me the privilege to read such great works by other wonderful writers! I'm loving Writing.Com!

It's great to be able to read people's work, it's great to have it read and get feedback, but the main thing that makes me love Writing.Com is that I can log on from anywhere in the world (providing it has a computer!) and get to my writing in a few seconds. Unless you spend as much time out as I do, you have no idea how convenient it is to be able to log on for a few minutes and jot down an idea before it's lost forever. Thank you, Writing.Com, for preserving some of my best ideas and always being there!
